A person who spiked candy with sedative and distributed them to youngsters at a summer program in the area has admitted sexual offenses against two young males both between nine and ten.

The accused was arrested after eight youngsters and an older person became sick at Stathern Lodge in mid-summer.

The 76-year-old, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a multiple criminal counts when he was present at the judicial center on the end of the week.

However, he denied one of the sexual offences he was accused of, which was against a young boy.

The defendant was remanded in custody before a subsequent court date on late November.

'Sweet game'

The legal representative, presenting evidence, described the criminal behavior to the judicial body.

She stated his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a summer camp which he ran.

Ruben conducted a "treat game" with the children, the legal counsel said, in which he would enter the sleeping quarters when they were preparing to sleep and request they to consume candy "as quickly as they can".

She informed the proceedings the man had engaged in this activity with the young males "for many years", and children had earlier experienced illness the next day.

She said Ruben had been successful in rationalizing this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepchild had worries in recently.

The legal representative added: "This year his stepson had suspicions about what was going on, justifiably.

"They chose" to have a look in the man's possessions."

The prosecutor stated items including lubricant, ointment and injection devices were located, and his stepchild contacted the law enforcement about his concerns.

She said Ruben continued to play the "treat game" with six youngsters that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were all sick the next day.

"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that time," she continued.

The oversight body, the investigative body, earlier informed that it was investigating law enforcement's management of the events.

The legal representative explained the minors were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the family member called the authorities again.

She said the man then conducted the "sweet game" in a area of five minors.
