Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and three other people were injured.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
