I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
